The LMEA Soaring Club operates out of Chilhowee Gliderport, TN, approximately 1.5 hours from Marietta.

The club provides two sailplanes for its members.  Our two-seater is a Czechoslovakian built Blanik L-13, one of the finest and most popular all-metal trainers in the world.  The club single-seater is a high performance fiberglass, German built Schempp-Hirth Cirrus that can be used for cross country and competition soaring.  Several members own their own sailplanes and some have flown in National level competitions.

Membership is available under the LMEA guidelines.  Prospective members are invited to contact any of the following club members for an introductory flight and an overall look at our operation:
